Observe & Report: Training to Combat Human Trafficking

Air date: July 19, 2021 2 PM Eastern

Current domestic estimates put the number of victims of human trafficking in the hundreds of thousands. One of the locations often exploited by traffickers is truck stops, given the transient nature of the crime. To help address this, Truckers Against Trafficking regularly partners with trucking companies, commercial truck driving schools, and law enforcement agencies to train drivers to recognize potential signs of human trafficking. Since its inception, over 1.2 million transportation professionals have undergone training by Truckers Against Trafficking. Kendis Paris, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Truckers Against Trafficking, joins TT's Dan Ronan to discuss the organization's current measures to educate the industry and how individual transportation professionals can support these efforts. This episode will also feature Elisabeth Barna, ATA Executive Vice President and TAT Board Member. Fill out the form below to to watch the replay!
