Investing in the Nation's Highways

Air date: August 24, 2021 2 PM Eastern

On August 10, the Senate passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and it now moves to the House for consideration. The passage of the bill would mean new funding for surface transportation programs, including the greatest investment in the nation's bridges since the formation of the Interstate Highway System. Advocating on behalf of the trucking industry for crucial workforce development provisions and against provisions like a truck-only vehicle-miles-traveled tax is American Trucking Associations. Chris Spear, ATA's president and CEO, joins TT's Dan Ronan to discuss why federal infrastructure investment was a top strategic goal for ATA and what some of the key provisions within the bill

mean for the industry and fleets.
