Steve Hankel is the Vice President of Information Technology at JTS (Johanson Transportation Service), a third‐party solutions provider, licensed property broker, licensed ocean freight forwarder, and NVOCC. He joined JTS in 2010 and during his tenure, he developed a SaaS TMS (Transportation Management System), moved the company’s infrastructure to the Cloud, built up their software engineering program, and rolled out their Disaster Recovery and Cyber Security initiatives. Prior to joining JTS, Steve made a name for himself as Director of IT Operations at Webvan, Enterprise Risk Tools Team Lead at Wamu, and Co-Founder and Principle at Continuity Source.
Ben Gardiner
With more than ten years of professional experience in embedded systems design and a lifetime of hacking experience, Ben has a deep knowledge of the low-level functions of operating systems and the hardware with which they interface. He has held security assurance and reversing roles at a global corporation, as well as worked in embedded software and systems engineering roles at several organizations. Ben holds a M.Sc. Eng. in Applied Math & Stats from Queen’s University. He is a DEF CON Hardware Hacking Village (DC HHV) and Car Hacking Village (CHV) volunteer. He is GIAC GPEN certified and a GIAC advisory board member, Ben is also chair of the SAE TEVEES18A1 Cybersecurity Assurance Testing TF (drafting J3061-2), contributor to several ATA TMC task forces, ISO WG11 committees, and a voting member of the SAE Vehicle Electronic Systems Security Committee. Ben has delivered workshops and presentations at several world cybersecurity events including the Cybertruck Challenge, GENIVI security sessions, Hack in Paris, HackFest, and DEF CON main stage."
Antwan Banks
Antwan Banks acts as NMFTA’s Director of Enterprise Security. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and most recently served as director of cybersecurity for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. In the nine years he served in that position, he ensured that the authority would be well-protected by focusing on security tools, training, budgeting, strategic and tactical directions, intelligence programs, incident response and many other crucial priorities. Prior to his tenure with the Transit Authority, Antwan served as senior security engineer for Turner Broadcasting System, and was also a computer security consultant for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Disease Control.
